Past The Expiration Date?

No skeletons in this closet!
♥ Monday, June 30, 2008 -- 9:18 AM

Only in NY: They held a gay parade in Manhattan!

I'm not sure if they had been doing this for the past years but it was my first time to witness such yesterday! Haha! It was super funny! The "HAPPY" people were in their big bikes, honking, shouting and waving their flags non-stop! It was sooo cool! =D

That's what their flag looks like! Rainbow colors! =*

I took a short video while they passed us (this was nearing the end of the pile already so they weren't as many and as noisy)...

I took it infront of THEE Carnegie Hall. We watched several choirs perform Latin songs and they were great! The musical arrangement was simply enchanting! It was also my first time to see Carnegie Hall-- they say only REAL artists are given the chance to perform there-- it's THAT exclusive. Sadly, they have a "no photography allowed" policy so I wasn't able to shoot some pics.

Oh, and before the show, we had brunch at this very, very, very posh Russian restaurant (forgot the name!!! ARG!) along West 57th St. The place was beautiful! And you know what, even their waiters were beautiful! Haha! I love being served by beautiful people! Haha! Good food + a hot guy at your beck and call = HEAVEN! Woohoo!! =D

Aaaaand, since were talking gay here. Haha! Who would your GIRL-CRUSH (for girls!) / MAN-CRUSH (for guys!) be???

Mine are:

Kristin Kreuk!
(My first everrrr girl crush!! Haha!! Smallville moments, yo!)

Elisha Cuthbert!
(Loved her at The Girl Next Door! Woohoo! Pornstar neighbor-- every guys fantasy!!)

Leighton Meester!
(Ofcourse! Mi idolo! Haha! My inspiration for my current addiction, BLAIREbands! Haha!)
(LOVE THE HAIRRRR!!! SHOOOOOOT!!!)

XOXO

The African American accent.
♥ Sunday, June 29, 2008 -- 6:57 AM

I can't believe Pacquiao won-- AGAIN!

It's not that I want him to lose. Hmm, no. I take that back. I DO want to see him lose-- A LITTLE. Haha. You know, not major knock out... just a few scratches here and there kind of loss. Haha! I'm mean, I know! But see that's just who I am. During fights, I always take sides with the losing team. Haha. So yun.

Anyways, in lieu of this (naks, pa-sosing sentence! Haha!), I remembered something that happened months (or was that a year?) ago.

Here's the sitch:
Our TV broke down- (but at that time we didn't know that it was the TV that had the problem, we thought it was our cable box)- so my Mom called Time Warner (cable provider). They advised us to wait for the cable guy that was gonna come at around mid-day the next day. Since Mom had to go to work, I was the one assigned to wait for the guy.

So okay, fast forward to the next day... Cable guy comes and checks out what the problem might be. After figuring it out, he proceeds to checking me out (haha, napaka-humble? Haha, pero seryoso to!). So yan, here's how our conversation was like... oh but bear in mind that I was just on my 1st or 2nd month here so I still wasn't used to talking to someone that had an African American accent (asus! Palusot! Haha!). So there...

Shawn (cable guy): So, where you from?
Me: Uh, from the Philippines.
S: Oh. Thaz' cool, thaz' cool! You don't look like it tho'. Thaz' cool!
M: Thanks! =)
S: (Says something which I really didn't understand-- all I got was the word "BOX", so I said..)
M: Ya, the Balikbayan box?
S: (gives me a puzzled look!)
M: Why?
S: No, the name's Pek.. Pek... PEK-YAO (Pacquiao with an accent!).
M: OH!! THE BOXer, Manny Pacquiao, ya I know him! =D

Haha. Laughtrip talaga ako! =D
So yun, wala lang! Good times, good times! Haha! First ka-fling ko yun dito! Ma-text nga yun mamaya! =D Haha! Malandi! =)

XOXO ♥

A little boutique called Jin-Jaya-Ji. =P
♥ Saturday, June 28, 2008 -- 4:40 PM

Okay so I'm not really in the mood to update but since it's raining right now and I have nothing better to do because I can't go out (well, I can study.. but nah! I don't wanna! Haha!), I'm doin' it! LOL! =P

So okay, as you may (or may not) know, Spring Session 2 just started last Monday for us LaGuardians. Classes will only last for 6 weeks so we already had our very first quiz last Wednesday in Anatomy. Anyways school's still school. It's still b o r i n g. Even typing about school bores the heck out of me! But oh, my Spanish class was cool! We're still on the basics but I'm really enjoying it a lot! Okay so maybe school isn't really that bad.. I've also met some new faces (potential friends?) which is great! My classmates in Spanish were funny and since my Anatomy class is really small (around 17 people only), we bonded outright.

Okay, now for the fun stuff! Haha! I have been shopping yet again and I love it!

Here are the 3 tops I got from H&M! Haha!

(Because I'm such sucker for cheap thrills!)
They were 50cents each (2 BLAIREbands and 2 cutie scrunchies) and I love them! Haha!

Sunnies!!
I also wanted this one but I didn't get it because I bought a white one (pics to follow)!

Hoodie loooove! =)

Aaaaand just this morning...
Old Navy had their weekend summer sale and they sold their flip-flops for a buck!
I bought 3! Haha! Whatchathink?? 3 flippies for just $3, seriously!! =P

That's baby blue, shocking pink and black for you! Haha! The lighting's just nasty so it didn't come out right.

There ya go! Haha! And yum! My current addiction:

Jamba Juice provided free smoothies for us yet again! Yumyumyum!! =D

Oookhay, the rain stopped! Guess that means I'm out!
Byee!! =D

P.S. Mayee gave me an award! Woohoo!! Thank you soo much little sister!! ILY!!! =)

Rewind.
♥ Sunday, June 22, 2008 -- 11:35 AM

A friend once told me that a surefire way to know if you're really over someone-- yes, in the romantic way, is when you can talk (or think) about that person without having any ill feelings at all.

Coincidentally, just a few hours ago, I came across a re-run of Everybody loves Raymond, and the episode was about Robert's (Raymond's brother) wedding. The scene that stuck with me the most was when Raymond was giving his Bestman speech. He talked about "editing"... to only remember the good times and "edit" out the not-so-good times in every relationship.

It then got me thinking about that ex-someone, and the memories we had as a couple. I reminisced on the moments we've shared... back during those heart-melting times you wished would just never end. And whenever my brain would switch to those scenes that were not so good to remember, I tried to edit them out. Haha. And I succeeded. =)

Honestly, now, there's no more hate. At one point, I even began missing that someone. Haha. Afterall, he HAS been once a part of me. =)

*It was after school and they were inside the jeepney. When she leaned over to him to give the driver their fare, he gave her a peck on the forehead. That simple gesture made by him made her want to melt infront of all the other passengers looking.*

*It was nearing Christmas and she was still figuring out what to give to him. She knew what he really wanted was an Adidas jacket (because he told her!), and so that was what she got. She on the other hand told him that she wanted the biggest teddy bear in Blue Magic. Haha! Christmas came and the package she got was only a little over 10 inches long and about an inch wide. It certainly wouldn't fit even the smallest teddy inside. She opened it and found a pink rectangular-shaped pillow with the three magic words on it. It REALLY disappointed her. A day later, they met. He was wearing the jacket. Meanwhile, she was pissed and her actions showed it. He on the other hand had a plan which she didn't know about... After eating lunch, he took her hand and inserted something inside her finger while saying "Akala mo yun lang no?" It was a ring. Their ring (since he also had one). She laughed while tears slowly fell down her cheeks and she punched him, hard! Haha!*

*She still wears the necklace he gave to her during her birthday, from time to time. It would always remind her that no matter what happens, he would always have a place inside her heart.*

*One time, during a 4-hour class interval (break), he went to her dorm and they just listened to their favorite radio station, Magic 89.9, till they both fell asleep. It was raining outside and it got really cold inside her room since they forgot to close the windows, but his hugs kept her warm and cozy. It was one of the best 2-hour naps she has ever had.*

*She was about to leave for the States so her highschool friends planned to have a sleepover. Before going to her friend's house, he accompanied her to Manila Memorial to visit her Dad. It was raining (again!) that afternoon but he made sure she wouldn't get wet by holding the umbrella for both of them. He also made sure that the candle they lit for her father would always have a light.. and so whenever raindrops or winds knock the light out, he would brave out of their umbrella cocoon and risk getting sick and wet to put some light back on the wick again.*

*Whenever he would take pictures of them using his phone's camera, he would always make sure she had the bigger space inside the frame! Haha!*

*Whenever they would fight, he would always rub her stomach to calm her down... and more often than not it would. Not only because she would start to laugh because it would tickle her, but also because it's her "weak point", and he knew that it would always have that effect on her.*

*When they were still friends, he would pinch her lightly on the cheeks whenever they would pass by each other at school. Eventhough she felt really kilig when he did that, she would always retaliate with a pinch-with-nails on his lower arm and one time, it bled. Haha!*

*One time, he changed her phone's welcome note... but since she always kept her phone charged, she never got to see it. One day, he got tired of waiting for her to mention something about it to him that he just blew his cover and asked her to turn of her phone and look at the "surprise message" he did for her! Haha!*

*Whenever they were in a public place, he would suddenly break out into a dance and bust-a-groove out of nowhere. At first she thought it was funny, but after he doing it sooo many times, it began to irritate her already. One time he did it again, and so she sang out loud and out of tune. People started looking at them because they were acting really silly but they didn't care. Whenever they were together, she would always be on a party-mood. He would always put her on a high, no ecstasy could ever provide.*

*Whenever he'd tell her about the plans he had for their future, it would make her feel as if she was the prettiest girl in the entire universe. Whenever he did that, he made her feel she was more than a princess... he made her feel she was a Queen.*

*There was this time when she stopped going to school because she was getting ready to migrate to the U.S. Eventhough they would not see each other so much during those times, she never felt alone for he always called and texted every chance he got. He even sprayed on his perfume on her cellphone's neck strap so she could always smell him eventhough they were kilometers apart.*

*After a week of being together, he introduced her to his sister... and 3 weeks after that, his Mom. He has never done this to any other girl except her. Nothing would ever compare to what she felt when she found out about that.*

I hope he would get the chance to read this, but then maybe he wouldn't. Haha.
I hope you still remember them! =P Anyways whatever, I just wanted you to know that I still remember... everything.

Well maybe not everything... just the good ones starting now.
'Cause that's what "editing's" for.

♥ Friday, June 20, 2008 -- 6:19 PM

Sorry, sorry, sorry for the suckiness of this vlog! Haha! =P I just wanted to try and see how it feels like to make one!

I'm just rambling about really random and silly stuff here that I didn't realize it was already running too long! Haha! And since I don't know how to edit videos, here I am sharing to you the whole, RAW thing... bloopers, extra phone calls, blabbers and all. Haha!

This was recorded last Saturday, June 14, but I'm posting it only now since I had to think, and rethink, and rethink again if I should really show it to you guys. Haha! But I thought, sooo, what the heck, right? Dignity, schmignity! Haha! =P

Here it is!

--Maaaan, the inconsistent lines! "Wala akong maisip na mashare." tapos biglang "Kaya naisip ko nalang i-share." Haha, WTH, Nadine??? =P

--About the phone call: it's gonna run for a minute so just press the FF button! Haha!

--Aanddd, BOKBOK and POKNAT!! Got it! Haha!

--I WASN'T EVEN LOOKING AT THE CAM! LOL!! =P

--And sorry to Tricia, Shang, Patty and Abbie! Haha! Kayo lang biglang naisip ko nung about sa school eh! Sorryyyy!! Haha!! =)

This is majahhh (ala Posh Beckham), yo!!! HAHA!
After almost 3 months of not buying clothes (I just window shop and try things on!)... I finally had enough dough to purchase some! Yey me! =)

Bought and tried on mostly dresses because it's (finally!) summer here already and hey, because I'm trying to invest on GG-inspired pieces! Haha! EYELOVE!! =D

This one's from Zara which I really liked, but ended up not buying, 'cause it was waaaay pricey! Huhu! Gosh darn 89 bucks for a teeny dress! =(

Yey or nay? I bought the white one because it looks like something Serena would wear (Haha! Poseur me!). Got it in a different color though, in Navy Blue, because the white one was kinda see-through.

I actually got 2 more dresses but I wasn't able to take pictures of them. =)

I'm reaaaaaally excited to wear them once school starts (again!) next week! Haha! Part of the reason why I went shopping was also 'cause I was running out of outfits to mix and match! I really needed new ones especially now that I'm gonna be having classes 4 times a week. Oh, and here, this would be how my sched would look like for the next 6 weeks.

*

I also forgot to tell you that I've bought a new iPod a few months ago. It's a shuffle and it's the cheapest one Apple has! Haha!
I was actually planning on getting an iTouch (which was 5 times the price of a shuffle), but I thought about it and I figured out that I don't really need all that memory for my songs. This little thing can actually hold 250-300 (I think!) songs and methinks it's more than enough for a week's worth of listening. So right now what I do is just update it every week and change the songs I don't like to listen to anymore the following week. Yey me for saving more bucks for clothes! Haha! =)

I don't think you can clearly see it in this pic, but just above the Apple logo, I've asked the Apple people to engrave, "You know you love me, XOXO-- GossipGirl." Coolio, ei? =)

Soooo.. here's where you come in! Haha! What do you think should I name the little goober? I'm currently in the middle of choosing between the names iPee and iPoo because I wanted to name them after their Momma, iPod. So yea, what do you guys think? =) Haha!

The beauty mark (fake!) with iPee.. or iPoo. =)

I just heard at this morning's news that Rihanna's gonna be performing at the Today show on Friday.... FOR FREE!! I really, really wanna go! Last week it was Chris Brown and I wanted to go too but it's too early-- 7 AM early!! Haha! I AM such a SLOTH (not slut!) during mornings as I'm not really what you could call a morning person soooo I don't know! I wanna go but my bed says no! Haha!

Aaaand, just wanna share... I'm currently addicted to Hershey's Kisses Snacksters.. well, the addiction actually just started yesterday! =)

Good for my tongue-y and for my tummy (as it's only 100 calories a pack!). I bought a whole box yesterday (has 7 packs inside), and let's just say I'm down to 4 now. Haha! I ate 2 this morning for breakfast and ate 1 yesterday for merienda! YUMMY-O!!! =D

*

Oh and can you believe it? The Celtics won! I'm not really a Lakers' fan but I feel bad for Kobe! Aww. =(

Hey, need to go now! My Mom asked me to pick something up from the Post Office so I'm out! Payce, beybe!

Happy Father's Day, Daddy-O!!! =) I LOVE YOU!
♥ Sunday, June 15, 2008 -- 1:24 PM

Just came back from watching The Incredible Hulk!
It was awesome!! Woohoo! ♥

My favorites were the Incredible Hulk vs. Evil Hulk fight scenes! 5 stars for the amazing effects & cinematography... Ofcourse I'm a bit biased since they shot the scene in my fav city right now, New York! Haha! I just don't understand why almost all films that feature disastrous scenes blow up NY! Is it that amazing that they badly want to get rid of it altogether? Tsk. Jealous biatches! Haha! Jokeeeee..
O, Juan dela Cruz, favorite city ko lang naman ang NY, favorite country ko Philippines parin kaya wag kanang magselos! =P

ANYWAY.

My favorite line in the movie was by Bruce (Edward Norton) in the scene when they were about to make love. He said, "I can't... I can't get too excited!" Haha! Funnyyyy!! =)
My hatest were the, "It's ok." lines of Betty (Liv Tyler)... she must have said those atleast 10 times. Arr! Haha!

I also loved Ironman's (Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark) cameo! That was sooo unexpected!!! So enlighten me Marvel followers... about what he said in the last part, is the next movie going to star both Ironman and The Hulk together? And can this be connected with Ironman's "secret" ending as well? The one where Samuel Jackson was shown? Waah!! Haha! I've never really been a fan of "boy" flicks but I'm starting to like Marvel-inspired movies more and more! =)

Sadly though, I couldn't compare if this one was better than the first one because I haven't seen the latter one yet. But whatever, I still liked this one, and yes, watch it! It's a million times better than You Don't Mess with the Zohan! Haha! Sorry, Adam! =(

*

The nearest moviehouse from our place is just a street away and I'm beginning to see it perks...

No need to worry about how to get there, parking fees and even buying those expensive cinema munchies ('cause beside our theater, there's this store that sells v.cheap good eats!).
It's literally a stone's throw away from our apartment... You can be there in like 3 minutes or so if you walk really slow, and 30 seconds max if you run like a cheetah! Haha! No hassle pa 'cause you can just go there wearing your pajammies (just wear a cap so no one would recognize you-- although I've never tried doing that! Haha!).
Anyways, yeah it's a bit crappy because it's small (holds 4 movies only), but it's an okay place to see the movies you don't really want to see, or you just want to see for the sake of seeing. You know what I meant there, right? Haha! Plus the fee's really cheap... it's just $5/person (except during weekends). The normal rates here are more or less 12 bucks if you watch in the really nice, big cinemas... so paying for almost less than half of that, for the same movie, is really a steal!

The movie I wanna watch next is Hancock, and I wanna watch it all by myself! Haha! I have never, in my 21 years of existence, watched a movie in a moviehouse ALONE and I wanna try it. Wala lang, just for experience's sake. What do you think? Have any of you guys done that already? Share your thoughts naman. Was it cool kasi feeling independent, or was it awkward kasi siyempre you don't have anyone to laugh/cry with during funny/sad scenes? =)

P.S. Ooh, I just joined the Jamba Juice Breakfast Challenge! Haha! I hope I win the free Jamba breakfast for a year or the free Nike workout gear!

P.P.S. Thanks to Anj for making me an extra on one of her posts! =)
You know I love ya! =D

Start spreadin' the news, I want to be a part of it...
♥ Saturday, June 14, 2008 -- 11:23 AM

NEW YORK, NEW YORK.
("A city so nice, they named it twice!", they say.
And I agree!)

Somewhere along 5th Ave.

Look at who I bumped into inside St. Patrick's? Haha!

Statue of Liberty, Liberty Island.
(The ferry's the one that brings tourists/visitors to and from the island.)

Central Park's, The Mall.
(SPOT ME!!! Haha! =D
Credits to my kinakapatid, Joseph for the pic!)

Along Broadway...

I have just been really loving the city these past few days! It's like I'm craving for it... my feet itching to go and roam around it's mean, busy streets. Haha!

For the past year (and 4 months) I've been here, I've never really liked going to or exploring the city. I've just been really contented with what I see around our area (Queens!), that I really didn't give a care on what they called the "city that never sleeps!" Haha!
Maybe it's 'cause I know that I won't be leaving this place anytime soon and so at the back of my mind there's this voice saying, "The city's not going anywhere, I can go whenever I want!", that I really didn't make it a priority to get to know one of the world's greatest havens.

I guess my sudden liking for Manhattan, or my current "obsession" or "craving" (if you could call it that?) for it started when I started being addicted to Gossip Girl. Haha!
Oh yes, the Upper East Side life!
It just amazes me that somewhere, just a few Subway stops away from me, are Botox-loving, Bergdorf-shopping, Vivienne Westwood-clothed, Evian-drinking little party heiresses that I could mingle around with if I just put on my Havaianas' (wishing they would miraculously turn into Manolo's!), and get my bum inside the Q32 bus off to Madison Ave or Greenwich Vill. Haha! It really is like seeing the place in a whole new light! =)

Oh, and I just remembered! Yesterday while I was with the Nike Run NYC Club (will tell you more about that later!), I went out of our usual route (inside Central Park) into the sidewalks of 5th and Madison Ave's (from 57th to 90th street and back)... And can I just say, Madison Ave is DIVINE!!! I really am inlove with it!
Whenever I would pass by them high-end boutiques and someone would open the door to come in or leave, the smell inside would just *swoosh* out into where I am and EVERY sudden gush of air from the inside would just totally knock me off my socks (I swear if only I wasn't wearing my Nike's and sweats, I would soooo go inside all of them!)! Haha!
The restaurants looked really homey as well (while the little Richie Rich's of the city would eat their quaint salads and drink their bubbly champagnes right there on the pavement), and the apartments, Oh MY!, the apartments where sooo posh! Haha! I swear, the very first (hmm.. or second?) paycheck I make when I become a Nurse (plus overtime's, ofcourse!) would go straight to a penthouse downpayment! Haha!

Anyways, more about the Nike Run NYC Club...

I have been a member for a few weeks now and I'm really enjoying it! As the name implies, it is a running club sponsored by Nike. Every Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, the group would meet at Niketown at 6:30pm to run inside Central Park, and meet again at Niketown for some free refreshments afterwards. The fast group runs some 5-6 miles while the slow group (where I belong! Haha!) does 3-4.
It's really both fun and cool! I get to meet new people/friends. I get to be around diverse ethnic groups (you know, fellow Asians, Hispanics, the Blacks, Whites, Purples, Greens, Reds... Haha! Just about every race there is!). They also give away discount Nike coupons, sometimes even as high as 50% off's and even free Nike stuff-- Joseph got free Nike socks once when they had a raffle. Haha! Sometimes other companies give away free stuff as well. Just this Tuesday, Jamba Juice was one of the ones that provided us with the refreshments after the run.

A mix of mangoes and peaches with toppers. YUMMY-O! =D
(I even took one home 'cause there were a lot of extras! Haha!)

Oh, and some uppy-dates from when I was away...

Who had their Valentine's day flowers in May? =)

My summer haircut!

Had a facial!
(And look o! My shoes match one of the pics in my Friendster background! Haha! Cool diba? I only noticed it yesterday!)
