NEW YORK, NEW YORK.
("A city so nice, they named it twice!", they say.
And I agree!)

Somewhere along 5th Ave.

Central Park's, The Mall.
(SPOT ME!!! Haha! =D
Credits to my kinakapatid,
Joseph for the pic!)

Along Broadway...
I have just been really loving the city these past few days! It's like I'm craving for it... my feet itching to go and roam around it's mean, busy streets. Haha!
For the past year (and 4 months) I've been here, I've never really liked going to or exploring the city. I've just been really contented with what I see around our area (Queens!), that I really didn't give a care on what they called the "city that never sleeps!" Haha!
Maybe it's 'cause I know that I won't be leaving this place anytime soon and so at the back of my mind there's this voice saying, "The city's not going anywhere, I can go whenever I want!", that I really didn't make it a priority to get to know one of the world's greatest havens.
I guess my sudden liking for Manhattan, or my current "obsession" or "craving" (if you could call it that?) for it started when I started being addicted to Gossip Girl. Haha!
Oh yes, the Upper East Side life!
It just amazes me that somewhere, just a few Subway stops away from me, are Botox-loving, Bergdorf-shopping, Vivienne Westwood-clothed, Evian-drinking little party heiresses that I could mingle around with if I just put on my Havaianas' (wishing they would miraculously turn into Manolo's!), and get my bum inside the Q32 bus off to Madison Ave or Greenwich Vill. Haha! It really is like seeing the place in a whole new light! =)
Oh, and I just remembered! Yesterday while I was with the Nike Run NYC Club (will tell you more about that later!), I went out of our usual route (inside Central Park) into the sidewalks of 5th and Madison Ave's (from 57th to 90th street and back)... And can I just say, Madison Ave is DIVINE!!! I really am inlove with it!
Whenever I would pass by them high-end boutiques and someone would open the door to come in or leave, the smell inside would just *swoosh* out into where I am and EVERY sudden gush of air from the inside would just totally knock me off my socks (I swear if only I wasn't wearing my Nike's and sweats, I would soooo go inside all of them!)! Haha!
The restaurants looked really homey as well (while the little Richie Rich's of the city would eat their quaint salads and drink their bubbly champagnes right there on the pavement), and the apartments, Oh MY!, the apartments where sooo posh! Haha! I swear, the very first (hmm.. or second?) paycheck I make when I become a Nurse (plus overtime's, ofcourse!) would go straight to a penthouse downpayment! Haha!
Anyways, more about the Nike Run NYC Club...

I have been a member for a few weeks now and I'm really enjoying it! As the name implies, it is a running club sponsored by Nike. Every Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, the group would meet at Niketown at 6:30pm to run inside Central Park, and meet again at Niketown for some free refreshments afterwards. The fast group runs some 5-6 miles while the slow group (where I belong! Haha!) does 3-4.
It's really both fun and cool! I get to meet new people/friends. I get to be around diverse ethnic groups (you know, fellow Asians, Hispanics, the Blacks, Whites, Purples, Greens, Reds... Haha! Just about every race there is!). They also give away discount Nike coupons, sometimes even as high as 50% off's and even free Nike stuff-- Joseph got free Nike socks once when they had a raffle. Haha! Sometimes other companies give away free stuff as well. Just this Tuesday, Jamba Juice was one of the ones that provided us with the refreshments after the run.

A mix of mangoes and peaches with toppers. YUMMY-O! =D
(I even took one home 'cause there were a lot of extras! Haha!)
Oh, and some uppy-dates from when I was away...

My summer haircut!

Had a facial!
(And look o! My shoes match one of the pics in my Friendster background! Haha! Cool diba? I only noticed it yesterday!)
